Welcome to the Studio of Jangles and Studio Saturday!
Howdy y’all,
I just got back from a gigantic road trip with the family. We had a great time driving through Maine and Canada. Along the way we saw Niagara Falls, Bar Harbor, Quebec City, Whales, and more. The Heynen family had loads of fun.
I took 619 photos on my trip. I have my camera around my neck at all times, because you never know what you are going to see. I love to take pictures for inspiration. I have realized over the years that I am not really shooting for the object as much as I just want to capture the colors. I have said it before and I will say it again, I love color.
Since I haven’t really been in the studio much, I thought I would show you some of the pictures I have taken for inspiration. Please take a look at the colors…
I am a sucker for stripes, especially black and white

July 25, 2009 at 1:23 pmWhat a great trip! I just love the photos, especially the boueys. I take photos for color, texture and/or contrast, and my family things I'm a nut.
I find inspiration from magazines, nature, the internet, and sometimes an idea just comes to me from nowhere.
Does anyone else see a bead when they look at a billboard, or a pattern on fabric, or a flower? Maybe I am a nut!

I love to read books and I find inspiration in it. When I read the narrative I picture the characters wearing clothes and jewelry. That's were I get my ideas from.

Living here it's hard not to find inspiration constantly!! :)The Mexican culture has always had a love affair with color. There is the color of houses,furniture, cloth, art. The flora&fauna in both the Rainy and the dry seasons. The ocean, beaches, sunrises,sunsets, the music&
dance the… See what I mean?? If you can not find inspiration here, chances are you never will. 🙁

A hug from a friend or loved one, a kiss from my husband, the sound of my daughter laughing, the peace I get from running or doing yoga, the passion and joy for what I do, compassion or a smile from a stranger, my intuition, the air I breathe, the smell of flowers, giggles from children, I endure, prevail and thrive with all heart.

I get a lot of my inspiration from clothes, but a lot of times, the beads have a tendency to "speak to me". (hope that doesn't sound too crazy!)
Like, I look at this star and think about some round coral beads and the ceramic turquoise beads that I bought at the B&B show. Oh, and those white vintage beads I haven't been able to use yet would be great!
Oh boy, I guess if I don't win I am going to have to order one now that I have the design in my head. LOL!

I find inspiration in the stories of my clients. I am getting a lot of mileage from poetry, lyrics and master artwork of late (with the ABS challenge of course!). Actually, I really like to combine all of them into one. Thanks for the great eye candy! Enjoy the day! Erin

July 26, 2009 at 9:29 amPatterns and colours on things around me are often turned into beads – often it's fabric, like clothing, carpets, curtains… either real or from a magazine. If I check my latest creations, there's one of my favourite beads which was inspired by a mug, a pendant in the colour scheme of my bed-linen, and a pair of earrings that was based on something from the latest Ikea catalogue, I think it was a cushion.
I also love the buoys in your picture and could imagine a pretty necklace based on those colours!

Another favorite are magazines like Real Simple….I love their use of a very refined color pallete.

That was taken in Vermont where Robert Frost is buried. It is the most wonderful cemetery. There is beautiful iron gate work too. I will try to get some photos on my blog this week of them.

July 28, 2009 at 4:39 amGreat pics, I especially love that gravestone. That face would make a great bead! I find inspiration in nature mostly, trees, flowers, birds, the mountains changing colors as the sun moves from east to west.

July 29, 2009 at 6:10 pmI get my inspiration from other people, friends, family, etc. The conversations we have, the things people ware, colors in food we eat, and the jobs we do around the house or outside and outside the home. There is color, texture, shapes, and sizes of different types of objects and dress steming from the things we do and have. Its every where you look, in every thing you do and have. All you have to do is open your eyes to everyone and everything around you at all times and you will find plenty of inspiration to feed on. It's wonderful. Try it some time.
Your pictures are wonderful and one good example of what I am saying.
