On the 9th Day of Christmas: Favorite Things Pendant

Here is another gift idea that is meant to use up left over beads.  Find what you have on hand for the accents and charms.

1. Create 3 dangles using glass beads on 1″ headpins. One a large (13mm) jump ring add 3 glass dangles. Use 5mm jump rings to attach 2 Vintaj Arte Metal charms.

2. On a 2″ eyepin string a disk bead, flat spacer and a glass rondell, create a wire loop.  Attach a 10mm jump ring.  Slide on an 18″ chain.

Cluster woodland charms, glass and your favorite art beads.

Matching earrings using Vintaj’s new leaf charms.
A variation with a floral theme.

Vintaj has a new line of brass and Arte Metal charms exclusive to Hobby Lobby.  They are so cool. If you don’t have a Hobby Lobby nearby, you can shop online. Here is a photo of some of the ones I’ll be designing with this winter:

And here are some that Vintaj sent for a giveaway for one lucky winner!
To enter leave me a comment telling me what is your favorite symbol for charms or pendants?  For me, it’s a tie between birds and leaves.  One random commenter will be picked on December 28th.
Thanks to Vintaj for sending along these new charms and pendants for our giveaway!

Beautiful creations. I love the earrings.

Asking for a favorite symbol for charms or pendants is difficult. I love anything to do with nature — dragonflies were a favorite early in the year, and now I'm leaning towards leaves.

OMG! I love all the mixed bead charms all together….they make the best unique designs 🙂
    uhhh..favorite charm/symbol?
Ones that tell a story, like the owl, and then the supporting beads to make it more interesting.

Heather, I have been using your disk beads to make some necklaces and earrings (and an ornament) for Christmas gifts. I like the way your art beads add just a splash of color and really finish off the piece nicely.

I would be a tie between hearts and flowers for me.

Oh, I just came back (empty-handed) from shopping for charms at Michaels. Didn't find what I "needed." My current favorites are both in the animal family (which is odd cuz I'm not really an animal person): dolphins and hummingbirds. I love the symbolism of them both. Thanks! –SallyAnderson

Heather, you always do such a nice presentation! Versatile designs, clear directions, and great ways to use your beads! Owls seem to be hot right now (maybe they always were) and I also love the purple disc bead! I never stopped to think about a favorite charm because I reach for dragonflies the most. They sell like a "charm"! Turtles are probably my favorite. But leaves are so easy to work with and in Wisconsin, we have the lush greens and then all the brilliant fall colors, and then we miss them in the winter!

This is a fabulous giveaway. My favorite has to be the key. There is something mysterious about a key, unlocking the truth sometimes, unlocking the safely guarded secrets, unlocking fellowship. There is a grand fellowship or bond for those of us who are artisians.
    How lucky we all are.
