Island Birdie

For June's inspiration painting, I used a Heather Powers bird for a bright splash of color. Because I don't wear a lot of bright colors, especially red, I toned down the palette by introducing Browns and neutrals to create an organic, earthy look. I used agate chips and stone round beads accented with ting orange Czech beads for a punch of color. Beads are strung on leather lace. And not forgetting, birdie sits atop an awesome enameled leaf by Anne Gardanne.
